Search and Discoverability

Challenge

Being findable is a writing problem

Most SEO advice treats search as a technical exercise: keywords in the right places, page speed, schema. That matters, and I do it. But the reason a page ranks and keeps ranking is that someone found what they were looking for and stayed.

At Ammbr the subject was blockchain mesh networking layered on TV white space spectrum, in 2017, for an audience split between crypto enthusiasts, telecoms engineers and investors. At Trescudo it was the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, for business owners who needed to act on it rather than study it. At Miraculous Equation it's AI change management, sold to enterprise buyers who have been promised transformation before.

Different subjects. Same job.

Strategy

The same question, asked of a different machine

Generative engine optimisation is new enough that almost nobody has years of it. The principles carry over from SEO, but the mechanism differs: AI systems parse, summarise and cite, rather than rank and link.

Then I find the entry point. Every technical subject has one thing that makes a reader care, and it is almost never what the company leads with. At Cormonity the piece wasn't about interface architecture, it was about why you can't stop scrolling. Finding that is the job.

Structure for the machine, write for the person. Both, or neither works.

Results

What it looks like in practice

Keyword research, on-page optimisation, technical audits, page-speed work and Search Console analysis. SEO-led content programmes built from scratch for companies entering competitive technical markets.

Google Analytics certified, and the point of the analytics is deciding what to do next rather than reporting what already happened.

Rankings are the measure. Readers are the point.
